Expectation: An encouragement or a frustration

Expectations are normal and in it’s a way of life. It follows you wherever you go, and whatever you do. People around you will expect something that you would do depending on the kind of status you’re displaying to them just like the way you’re expecting them to do to you.  And when everyone’s doing things as what has been anticipated, then everything’s fine, everybody’s happy, and satisfied. However, as we know, life isn’t like that. In reality, the more expectations you’ll have, the more frustrations you’ll get, for most of the time, they’re just not met. It’s a fact that when you’ll ask common people on how they’re doing with their life, they’ll often respond with hopelessness, without a sense of high hopes, and greater expectations from life. They appeared to already have embraced the fact that life is just too imperfect to be expected that something beautiful can still come out from it. It would be better not to expect better things, for when they do happen, you’ll end up getting surprised, but when they don’t, it would still be alright. Sounds familiar? Well, if you’re not like one of these people, then it’s good for you. For there are some people that won’t just stop until their expectations are met, and I could be talking just about you. In fact, expectation is actually a byproduct of faith. If you believe on something good, then you’ll expect something good. And faith goes beyond reason, for it sees through the obstruction of hardships, and knows from deep within that the expected good is coming. It’s coming for you’re moving forward, and not stopping, and the distance is just becoming closer and closer by every step made, no matter how little or slow it is, but the fact that you’re still moving forward, soon, it would just be within your grasp. Or perhaps, you’re this person that appeared to be very successful in everybody’s eyes, and you appeared to have reached your expectations, but deep within, your soul is empty, and no matter how hard you’ve tried to fill it with all the things in the world, entertainment, lust, money and fame, you still ended up in deep void, and frustrated. Whether you like it or not, you’re human, a subject of weakness and limitation. You might have become the person that you’ve desired to be, but not the person that you’re designed for. You’ll never be satisfied until you’ll become the way as you were made. If you’re one of the persons mentioned on this article, and you’ve found yourself getting frustrated, and is going nowhere, I would like to encourage you on this Bible passage, in Psalm 5:3, “In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.(NIV)”. Only God can turn your frustrations into hope, and can keep you going ahead, and can fill the void within your soul. Align your requests to Him, and believe that He can do exceedingly, abundantly, and above all that you could ever ask or think, and you can guarantee, that as you wait with expectations, you’ll get encouragement, and not frustrations.

If you haven’t yet made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, now is the time to surrender your life to Him, for He alone can fill that void within your soul. He alone can satisfy your hunger, desire, and expectations, for you’ll find the reason of your existence in Him, just like the way you were made. You may pray to God the prayer below:

Father in heaven, I humble down myself to you, I acknowledge that I have fallen short of your glory, and I’m sorry for what I’ve done. I believe in your Son Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and I pray that you’ll lead me into the path where I can find my true self in you by surrendering my plans, desires and expectations. This I pray, in Jesus name. Amen.

If you’ve prayed that prayer sincerely, then you just have been born again. Find a bible-believing born again church to nurture your spirit. If you’re in Pasig, you may join us, at Builder Of Nations, Ministries, #16-I, Melendrez, Pag-asa St., Caniogan, Pasig City. Thank you and God bless.
